October 2024, Mumbai : In a dazzling event that celebrated the achievements of women across industries, Isha Ambani, Director of Reliance Industries Limited, was honored as the ‘Icon of the Year’ at the prestigious Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards 2024. The star-studded event, held in Mumbai, was graced by influential women from the worlds of business, fashion, art, and culture.
As Isha Ambani took the stage to receive the award from celebrated interior designer and entrepreneur Gauri Khan, she expressed heartfelt gratitude to the two most important women in her life — her mother, Nita Ambani, and her daughter, Aadiya.
“I would like to dedicate this award to my daughter, Aadiya, who inspires me every day to do more and do better,” the 32-year-old entrepreneur said in her acceptance speech. She also acknowledged her mother, Nita Ambani, Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, calling her a role model and mentor. “She has paved the way for me,” Isha remarked, crediting Nita Ambani for her unwavering guidance and influence.
A visionary leader in business, Isha Ambani has played a transformative role in the growth of Reliance Retail and Jio Platforms, making significant contributions to the retail and telecom sectors in India. Under her leadership, Reliance Retail has become one of the top-10 retailers in Asia and the only Indian company to feature in the list of the global top 100 retailers. She has also been a driving force behind the expansion of the company’s digital footprint, launching successful ventures such as the e-commerce platform Ajio and the online beauty destination Tira.
In addition to her business accomplishments, Isha is deeply involved with Reliance Foundation, where she oversees initiatives focused on women and children, contributing to the foundation’s mission of creating positive social impact in India.
