GUWAHATI: In its continued battle against narcotic drugs, police in Karbi Anglong district recovered 726.05 gm of heroin from a Guwahati-bound car at Khakrajan under Barpathar police station on Thursday.
“Based on specific inputs, a naka checkpoint was set up at Khakrajan. A car bearing registration No AS13F5257 was intercepted. During the search, 60 soap packets were recovered from the front side of the car,” said a police official.
“The consignment weighing 726.05 gm is suspected to be heroin. We sent it for forensic test,” he said.
Two persons from Imphal- Sajit Khan and Iqbal Ahmed were arrested in this connection.
The consignment was brought from Dimapur and was supposed to be delivered in a place in Golaghat town.
