Mumbai, February 10, 2025: Popular podcaster and YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, widely known as BeerBiceps, is under investigation by the Mumbai Police for his controversial remarks made during an episode of India’s Got Latent, a comedy show hosted by well-known YouTuber Samay Raina.
Complaint Filed Over Alleged Obscene Comments
According to reports, Allahbadia, along with fellow content creators Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija, was present on the show when he made comments that have now sparked widespread criticism.
The controversy escalated after Mumbai-based lawyers Ashish Rai and Pankaj Mishra filed a formal complaint on Monday, alleging that the remarks were obscene and disrespectful towards parents, women, and their body parts.
“Police should register an FIR against the organiser, the online platform, the artists, and others concerned, and thoroughly investigate the matter,” said advocate Rai.
Mumbai Police Confirms Inquiry
Dikshit Gedam, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Zone 9, Mumbai, confirmed that an official probe has been initiated. “An inquiry is going on (in the matter),” Gedam stated, without revealing further details.
Backlash & Social Media Reactions
The controversy has triggered a wave of reactions on social media, with many users debating whether the remarks were intended as humor or crossed a line. While some fans of Allahbadia and Raina argue that comedy should not be censored, others believe that such remarks should be held accountable.
The incident has also reignited discussions on content moderation on online platforms and whether comedians and influencers should exercise more responsibility while performing in public spaces.

As the Mumbai Police continues its investigation, it remains to be seen whether formal charges will be filed. Meanwhile, the production team behind India’s Got Latent and Ranveer Allahbadia have yet to issue an official statement addressing the controversy.
