Imphal:01.01.2023- In a concerted effort to maintain law and order, security forces in Manipur have intensified search operations, area domination, and essential items’ transportation measures in vulnerable regions of Thoubal and Imphal East districts. The comprehensive security measures aim to ensure the safety of residents and facilitate the smooth movement of essential goods.
Search Operations and Area Domination: Security forces have carried out extensive search operations and area domination in the fringe and vulnerable areas of Thoubal and Imphal East districts. These operations are crucial in identifying and addressing potential security threats, bolstering the overall safety of the communities residing in these regions.
Essential Items’ Transportation: Amidst the security measures, the movement of 224 vehicles along NH-37 and 97 vehicles along NH-2 has been closely monitored and facilitated by security forces. Essential items, including food and medical supplies, are being transported to ensure the well-being of residents. Strict security measures have been implemented to safeguard the convoy’s journey, especially in sensitive stretches.
Naka Checking and Detentions: To reinforce security across Manipur, a total of 140 Nakas or checkpoints have been installed in different districts, encompassing both the hill and valley regions. Police personnel have been actively engaged in checking vehicles and individuals for any suspicious activities. In a recent update, 238 persons have been detained in connection with various violations across different districts of the state.
The security convoy, stationed in sensitive stretches, aims to provide a safe passage for vehicles carrying essential items. The stringent measures are part of the government’s commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring the unhindered movement of goods and people.
